This was a replacement bridge for a 1996 Japanese Jackson Kelly. The factory bridge with its pot metal parts stripped very easily, and the saddles were horrible. This inexpensive replacement was an simple install in the Jackson, and the original studs worked just fine. The different in the guitar was very apparent after switching the bridges out. A simple upgrade that greatly improved the quality of the instrument.

Had a TRS-pro in a very beat up 1994 Yamaha RGX that had seen better days. Stripped screws, lots of body damage, scratches, dents, etc. Hard to find replacement parts for TRS. so I took a gamble on the this tremolo. Fits was nearly perfect and is holding tune almost perfect after playing with it for the last 30 days. I have several guitars with varying trems.. Yamaha RM-pro II, Floyd rose original, jackson licensed. The golden age is probably the closest to the Original Floyd Rose as far as quality and stability. I have yanked it every which way and is has kept perfect tune for me.
One thing I did notice, the tuning went flat after about a week. I adjusted the screws (at the claw) about 1/2 turn and was back in business. I am guessing the new strings may have stretched a bit? It has stayed nearly perfect since with very little fine tuning needed. I now have a shiny new daily player.
Will be definitely adding this to my next project guitar.

* DISCLAIMER: I have only had this tremolo installed for a week, with maybe 3 hours of playing time.*

I put this trem in a 1999 Ibanez RG350DX that was previously equipped with a Floyd Rose Special (FRS). Not only is the Golden Age tremolo a PERFECT fit for the cavity and top route, but the posts that ship with this trem also fit in the FRS bushings in the body. There's a very small amount of post play inside both the FRS bushings and the Golden Age bushings, but tuning stability and performance don't seem to be affected. The luthier who performed a setup on this guitar had no experience with the Golden Age brand, and with over 20 years experience, he told me he is very impressed with the trem and called it an exceptional value. To me, that says it all. I strongly recommend this product to any RG owner who wants to replace their worn-out Ibanez LO-TRS, LO-TRS II, or similar tremolo.

my golden age tremolo sounds awesome, not bad at all. After installation, and painstaking calibration, I played it every day for a week, and every day it stayed almost dead on in tune. Not crazy about the play in the tremolo arm itself, but, it can be bushed. all in all, it sounds clean, bright, and helps the Fender Prodigy sound full like it was supposed to sound in the first place. My Kahler Spider II always sounded dull and lifeless, even with new strings, i was always baffled. the golden age tremolo has caused me to fall in love with this guitar again, very impressed!

Replaced the flimsy FR-licenced thing on my jackson performer with one of these. Much more tone & sustain! Good construction too. Did need some extra routing onthe surface of the body, mind you, as it's a different size.

I think it's a great tremolo. Just contacted a guitarbuilder to have one installed on my parts strat, too.

Too bad sending it to The Netherlands (where I live) means a lot of p&p ànd import duties. But I still think it's worth the extra cost.

If you are planning to mount this on top of your guitar it should work, but if you want to recess it, be prepared to do extra routing yourself. It is wider than both the schaller and the floyd rose original, so it will not fit routes designed for either of those.

Also, you better hope you know what you are doing, because this is shipped as a few bags of parts, with no instructions or directions as to whether you should follow the schaller licensed or original floyd rose instructions which are widely available online. Even the stewmac fret position calculator doesn't tell you whether to mount the bridge the distance for a floyd rose original, or schaller.

The parts all seem to be of decent quality, but if I had it to do over again, I would have definitely chosen the schaller the first time.

Put one on my first guitar 2 years ago. It's one of my go to guitars and is played a lot. Trem has held up well. Easy to adjust. Looks good.
