Chopping the ends off bridge pins

If you're not careful, installing new strings can create a problem that throws you out of tune or damages your bridge pin holes. Elliot John-Conry of EJC Guitars shows us an easy fix.

Ebony is the best pin material. The abalone inlay makes them even better.

Good but too big

So I've put these on many of my acoustics. They fit right in the 1960s Harmony, but not in the reissue Harmony. They also fit right in my (I was told it was from the 1970s) Eko, but they did not fit in my 2000 Alvarez. To make them fit I had to spend hours grinding them down evenly with a Dremel tool sander bit and regular sandpaper. I've got blisters on my fingers! And I'm not even a drummer. Will have to measure the old pins first to get the diameter of the shank with some digital calipers. Works great on the ones that fit, but man it's a lot of time-consuming work on the ones that don't. They still sound better than plastic though.

Nice addition to Martin 00-18 with light sanding

These worked well but I did need to narrow the pins slightly (E, A, D strings) with light sanding to fit my Martin 00-18. Worth the price.

I ordered these pins for a 2002 Simon and Patrick Pro Rosewood Guitar.
They fit this guitar Perfectly and I believe it made a Guitar with a Very Nice Tone just a little bit Nicer!.
Order was received Very Quickly also!

Do Ebony bridge pins make a tonal difference? I ordered these pins to settle the debate in my mind. These are high end pims that fit my Martin perfectly.
Conclusion? There IS a tonal difference!
